Day 2: Guwahati to Bomdila (Approx. 265 km / 10 hours)Kickstart your ride by crossing the historic Saraighat Bridge over the mighty Brahmaputra River. The route to Bomdila is adorned with lush greenery, rolling hills, and quaint villages. As you ascend, the cool mountain air and panoramic views signal your entry into the Eastern Himalayas. Upon arrival in Bomdila, explore local attractions or simply unwind, preparing for the higher altitudes to come.
Day 3: Bomdila to Tawang via Sela Pass (Approx. 180 km / 7 hours)Today's journey takes you through the awe-inspiring Sela Pass, situated at an elevation of 13,700 feet. The pass is often snow-covered, offering surreal landscapes and the serene Sela Lake, also known as Paradise Lake. The challenging roads and high altitude make this segment both demanding and rewarding. Descending into Tawang, you'll be greeted by the town's unique blend of Tibetan and Indian cultures.
Day 4: Exploring Tawang (Approx. 115 km / 4.5 hours)Dedicate this day to uncovering the cultural and historical treasures of Tawang. Visit the Tawang Monastery, the largest in India, which stands as a beacon of Tibetan Buddhism. Pay respects at the Tawang War Memorial, honoring the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Stroll through the Old Tawang Market to experience local life and perhaps pick up some souvenirs.
Day 5: Tawang to Bumla Pass and Back (Approx. 110 km / 5 hours)Gear up for a ride to the Indo-China border at Bumla Pass, perched at 15,200 feet. Day 8: Kaziranga to Guwahati (Approx. 120 km / 3 hours)Start the day with an early morning safari in Kaziranga National Park, home to the largest population of the one-horned rhinoceros. The park's rich biodiversity also includes tigers, elephants, and a variety of bird species. After the safari, ride back to Guwahati. In the evening, gather with your fellow riders for a farewell dinner, reminiscing about the journey and the bonds forged.
